baby items

Will, Tyler and I went to Family Dollar and picked up a few items for the new Mom's that the Ymca is collecting for Crusader Clinic. We didn't get much. Just some baby wipes, baby lotion, bottle and a rattle. If anyone else wants to donate anything I am taking the stuff to the Y on Monday. Or you can drop stuff off their on your own.

Meet the next Rock Valley College student

Twice this week Tyler went to class with me. My teacher was great! He didn't mind a bit. I wasn't the I wasn't only Mom who brought their child. Today was a really laid back fun day so it worked out great. We had as a group write instructions on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Then the teacher would follow our instructions and if you weren't clear enough he would act dumb lol. He did a good job. Tyler got to make a sandwich in 60 seconds and then was able to eat it. I brought the bread in and we got to feed a couple geese as we were leaving the college. Check out the cute guy!! Opps Tyler is cute too. The teacher isn't really all that cute, but he is dressed nicely.
Not very many men can get away with wearing pink but it looked good on him.

We are going to donate a few inexpensive items for the new Mom's. It won't be much, but it's something that I feel that I just can't ignore. It's pretty good example to my kids to help others in need. Anyone want to help too?

I got to love technology

I found some floppy disc and my little sister was the first person that I could hunt down that old computer. I was thrilled to get some of these lost pictures back. A thanks to technology and a bigger thanks to Michelle. Thank you very much.
Tyler and I went the Ymca for some swimming. We were given wrong information and open swim didn't start for another hour. So we skipped swimming. He played and I sat in the hot tub. I suppose I should have walked some, but I was already in my swimming suit. There was quite a few people in the hot tub and one girl was pretty large. Most people don't treat large people very nice. They say things like how do they find it? Or just wow if I get that big shoot me. Okay if I do get to about 400 lbs please do shoot me. However, big people shouldn't be treated mean. Or should I make fun of the girl who was so thin that I seen her ribs.

My most important thing I want to say tonight and it kind of fits with the pictures. Crusader Clinic is a non for profit clinic and they are having a fund raiser to give new moms baby items. They are looking for simple items like bibs, tshirts, bottles, baby clothes, diapers, baby soap, lotion. I could go on and on, but I am sure you get the idea. They are taking the donations at the Ymca until March 31st. The plans are that every new Mom gets a baby care package when they come in for the first visit. The items need to be new. I think it's a wonderful idea. Baby items really don't cost too much money, but it really does add up. So I plan on spending a few dollars to donate. If everyone who has a few bucks to spare gives then it might make the difference between Mommies and babies staying together. If anyone wants to bring stuff to me I will make sure the Ymca gets it.
If you have used baby items to donate I believe Children's home and aid Society of Illinois could use gently used items.

For those who don't know the baby picture are Tyler and the student is William. Kids grow too fast.

I wrote a post about adoption. I don't want anyone to think that I am Anti adoption. Sometimes it has to happen, but I think it happens way too often. It happens more than it needs to. Parents are not teaching their children about sex and birth control. I am even guilty of that. I have yet to really sit down and tell my older son about the ins and outs of sex and how not to make a baby. I guess at 14 years old I still see so much of a child in him. So that is something I need to work on so there isn't a grand baby for a long time yet.
I wrote about how adoption isn't really moral because of the dollars. I don't want anyone thinking that the women who place children are getting money. If they get anything most of the time it's the hospital bills paid and we all know that no hospital is going to hold your baby hostage if you don't pay the bill. So I don't want anyone thinking that when people place children for adoption that they are selling their babies. The people who are making the profit are the adoption agencies and the lawyers. That's why I really don't think adoption is moral. I am not saying that every person who places a child for adoption is being forced by parents, but the people who are doing the educating on what your choices are is the ones who make the profit.
I really don't mean any disrespect when I say adopted parents are buying the children. I just have a hard time calling it anything else. Especially when the race of the child could cost you more money. I think adoption can be a wonderful thing when children need homes. However, I don't feel like it should cost so much money. If a couple can't have children and they want to adopt they have to have quite a bit of money. They have to decide how many children to adopt based on their wallet. Sure when it comes to having kids you have to consider that too. You just can't keep having tons of kids if your broke. But then again you don't have to pay a huge down payment just to have a kid. You get to pay over time.
It also really bugs me when I see fund raisers for an adoption fund. What about fund raisers to keep Mommies and babies together? Oh and the huge tax credit people get when they adopt really bugs me too. It's just plain and simple. Adoptions cost money and it's a business. The dollars need to come out of adoption. Then lets see how many agencies and lawyers are still going to be in that business.

I have two crazy pictures to share. One is of a car that looks like is made for someone like Tyler. What were they thinking when they made it? If I crash or someone hits me I want a little more space between me and the other car.
The other picture is of RabbitRabbit and Snacky. How many people can show me a picture of a cat and a rabbit? I don't mean the cat eating the rabbit either? They are buds!!

I have added several links to my blog. Most are adoption blogs. Some are the birth parents and some are the adoptees and some our the children buyers. haha funny, but they do buy the babies.
Adoption isn't all roses like people want to believe. Babies go off to a new home. Kind of like sending puppies away from the Momma dog, but the momma dog forgets the baby. The momma to the babies don't forget. There are people out there that have sisters or brothers who might always wonder about them. The baby's aren't always thrilled that they were torn from their Mommy's. I do read adoptive and people wanting to adopt blogs, because I like that if adoption has to happen it's no longer a big secret. People aren't being shamed into never speaking of the child again. The adoptive parents aren't trying to run and act like they actually had the child.
I still don't think adoption can ever really be moral as long as their is dollars in the adoption business. How does one agency or lawyer provide the right counseling when they have something to gain. Let's see if she signs the child away. We get money. If she decides she can parent... then opps we don't get money. So the best deal for the business is to push women to place their children for adoption. Did you know that white children cost more than black or mexican children? What kind of bullshit is that? So white children are worth more? So is it like going to a restraunt and open up the menu... Yea I would like a white, blond, blue eyed baby. Ch ching.. that will be 15,000
So how come I was able to buy my dog for 300.00 and it's okay to call it buying, but when people adopt a child and pay tons of money it's called adoption. Why not call it what it is?? Babies are a market. We are selling and buying children. You don't have to like what I have to say, but that's me. I think it's time for a drink. I love Arbor Mist. Taste better than the Kool-aid and I get a little buzz. Yea for vacation.

My final day before my vacation was pretty cool. Bob needed to go somewhere with his car. Honestly he shouldn't drive anymore, but he won't stop until he is ready to admit that he should never drive. He admits that he probably shouldn't drive. So, if Bob runs any of you over, it was nice knowing you.
So, I got to drive the Van to Sandy's hair salon and the pharmacy. Normally I just hop in his car and go. I love taking my own, because it's mine. I can play the music and I am comfortable. I even took my laptop and was able to get a internet connection. So I got my internet fix. I used to be able to get online at work, but I think the person died. Sucks for me, but really sucks big time for them. I am off work till almost April now. I really should have canceled my vacation after we had to buy the van, but I am burning out. So now more Bob and Sandy stories for a while. Hopefully they won't die before I go back to work.
I am trying this feature of moderating comments. It makes me feel like the boss lol. so here is where my opps is. I tried to agree to a comment and it disappeared. I don't know who tried to left it, but I didn't mean to not publish it.

Let's go fly a kite!!
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring up in the atmosphere
where the air is always clear
Let's go fly a kite!!
I received my 2nd paper back from my teacher. I got a B. I don't have it in me to continue with school after this semester ends. I am not applying for aid to continue. I have too much at home to deal with. I think I might need a second job, because I really don't see how I can keep everything going all on my own. School was great while it lasted and I really do enjoy the hour in class, but I just don't have the time outside of class. There is always the next year.
