Today, has been a bad day. I took Tyler to the Doctor for a test for allergies. He has severe allergies to dust mites and also allergies to feathers and cockroaches. Luckily, he isn't allergic to our pets so that is really good. The appointment took about three hours and now I feel all itchy and stuff. They think that his allergies are going to be all year long but more so in the winter. He didn't get anymore medication and that is very good. He is on enough. They say that the asthma and allergies kind of go together. One bugs the other one.
I just get kind of frustrated with being a Mom. It seems like my kids struggle all the time. William is failing out of high school and always has one reason or another why he isn't getting to school. You know the drill. I have a "stomach ache" or "I have a headache" or " I missed the bus" I just want better for my kids and he is going down the wrong path in life. He is one smart kid.
Back to Tyler, he struggles in school too. It's a challenge to get him to do his homework. He has been doing better but always some kind of a hurdle to jump over. Why can't life just ever be simple?
I do feel very lucky in the relationship department. I am very happy with my husband. He has really matured a lot in the last couple years. I don't know if that is the right term to use but he has really changed. I guess I would have to say that he is more level headed. He still has a lot of the same views that would tick me off but he is better at communicating some of it and I think now he knows when to just shut up.

My husband entered a contest for dinner and Annie at the Fireside and he won!! We went last night and we had a awesome time. We don't get out together often enough all on our own for something special. We had to arrive at 2:30 and and didn't leave till about 8 30 pm. The dinner was pretty good but my favorite part was the play and sight seeing we did in that area. We couldn't take any pictures of the play but here are some pictures of us from our night.

I love watching Amiah! She is full of giggle and smiles but can be a grouch at times. She has a mind of her own. If she doesn't like something I offer her to eat she won't budge! She has a really cute mad face. I love the excitement that she brings to our home. She knows she can usually find scooby doo snacks in PaPa's shirt pockets. I call the toddler snacks that so don't think we feed her dog treats! lol
I borrowed my sister's camera because we are going to see Annie and I want pictures of the night. I snapped a picture of Amiah and she loves the camera.
Here Tyler is doing his homework. He has been doing his homework really well lately. Last week, Tad gave us money to go out to dinner at Five Coins to have all you can eat chicken.

Way to go Tyler!!!!
Tyler brought home a really good progress report from his school. He has made quite a bit of improvement in doing all and turning in all his homework. Tad wanted to celebrate by doing something for him.
So, he gave us some money and after I dropped off the soup I promised the church that I babysit for, we went to Five coins for all you can eat chicken.
Tad didn't go but we still had a nice time. We ate tons of chicken! There were a bunch of doctors and nurses there doing some kind of meeting. I tried to talk him into going over there and saying can you look at my rash? hahaha He doesn't really have a rash but wouldn't it be funny.
He did a survey and for their part on suggestions he wrote that they should have all you can eat ice cream. Now, that would be awesome!! I remember when I was a kid and Ponderosa had all you can eat Sundae bar and boy was it a kids best dream come true. Here is a picture of his suggestion.

Today, at school Tyler's teacher brought astronaut food for the kids to try. He explained how the ice cream hydrated in your mouth after you ate it. It wasn't cold. All I could think of is what fun is ice cream if it's not cold?
Tad started teasing Tyler saying Astronaut Tyler and Tyler would say Astronaut Tad and eventually started calling me Astronaut Mommy. I said I can't be an Astronaut because I would get lost. He said, no you won't. I thought he would give me a detailed reason on why I wouldn't get lost and he did but in his own way. The astronauts wear white so they won't get lost. He cracks me up.
Well, I have to be awake bright and early so I better get comfy and get some sleep.

Fun times at the YMCA
Monday's are the day that I am making an effort to get some exercise during the day even with Amiah. So, until it gets warmer we have made Monday's a Y day. But She doesn't like the track thing. It might be too loud for her or when people run by it scares her. Maybe, in her little head, she is thinking if they are scared enough to run Grandma you better move faster. haha
We played some in the adventure part of the Y. I am kind of being naughty because she doesn't have a membership but oh well. Here are a few shots from today. Sorry, that my camera is crappy. I have two choices in camera. Crappy or crappier. My birthday and Mother's day is coming up. Hint hint. Just kidding.

It's been forever since I have wrote here. We took down our fence and we are looking forward to trying to keep our front yard looking nicer. We figure mowing will be easier and also the dogs won't be able to walk all over my flowers this summer.
We both got new cars because we were a one car family and then my van went to hell. I really like my car but it's too nice. I can't put my dogs in it. :(
This week, I was at the Y, three times and most likely I will go tomorrow too. I have so much more energy if I get some exercise. I paid for me to get my own locker at the Y. So, now I can leave my things there instead of carrying it around with me. I must be a geek because I think it's super cool. However, my husband is calling me a jock. He is silly. I like the Y because I get the me time. On Monday, I took Amiah and we went round and round on the track but then she started to cry. Then, we went into the area where the wii and other little games and such are and I let her crawl around. Tuesday night, is my major night when I can spend 2 to 3 hours there. Wednesday, I went with Tyler and we swam for a hour. We would have stayed a little longer but he had to get to bed because of school.
Today, I spend quite a bit of the day cleaning up. I washed Tyler's sheets and blankets and cleaned the kitchen and living room. That is quite a bit for me to do in one day.
Tonight, we went to Tyler's school for a reading family night. It was pretty cool. There wasn't too many kids but Tyler had a nice time. I took a few pictures but my camera doesn't work well. I need to get a new one.
Well, that's about all for one night.

I love owning our own home. It's feels good to make changes and decisions and not ask the landlord. We pulled all our carpet out and have nice hardwood floors in the bedrooms but the living room needed new flooring.
We paid quite a bit of money and put in a new floor. Tad did most of the work and I am so happy with the results. We still need to get baseboards and maybe paint down the road. I know that is backwards but oh well. We have other ideas for our house. We are going to get rid of the front fence. Tad has been wanting to do this forever and I didn't want it but he does the mowing so I am letting him decide on this. I put up and ad and had three emails about it.
Enjoy the pictures.

I haven't ever been a fan of canned soup. It just doesn't appeal to me but if you take canned soup and spice it up it can be good. Here is a recipe for cheddar potato soup.
You will need two cans of Campbells cream of cheddar soup.
Milk
celery
potatoes
bacon or bacon bits
Chicken broth
Slice up the potatoes into bite sized chunks and slice up some celery. Cut up as much or as little as you want in your soup. Boil them together until tender.
Pour the cheddar soup in a pan and add to cans of milk. Then, heat up a cup of water and make chicken broth and then throw that in the pot of soup.
Add the potatoes and celery into the pot and cook until it's hot to your liking.
Last throw in the bacon bits but if your really crazy about bacon then you would want to fry up some bacon and throw it in the soup before the end.
This is as good as the soup you can get when you go out to eat and much better than just opening up a can. Enjoy it and remember within a few weeks or so you won't want soup because before you know it you will be bitching that it's too hot!!
