Busy Busy Busy
I have been pretty busy lately. Most days I love it. I am not busy as in always having stuff to do. I am busy, because I am choosing to be out and about. Sometimes, I am a home body, but I love to get out and go and see people.
For the first time in a long time, I can actually say that I won't feel bad about my ymca fees coming out of my account. I go three times a week and once in a while even more. Yesterday, I Ann and I walked on the bike path and sat in the grass. We dropped my phone in the grass and didn't see it until we were mostly back to the van. Luckily, it was still under the tree. Next time, Ann will have to be more careful. :)
Saturday, Tad and I went to the flea market looking for a weed wacker and instead, he seen a doll rocking chair. I didn't even ask, he just bought it. So, now I have 2 doll beds, a rocking horse and an high chair. The rocking horse and the high chair could be used for real babies but I am not sharing lol Real babies drool and poop. ewww.
Tonight is my last night of the ten week session of babysitting for Meld. It's been a great experience and as far as I know that I am on for another ten weeks after a two week session.

I can't believe that I actually have a wii. I really don't like the new video games, but my kids are so into them that if I can't keep them away from them that I might as well join them. I decided back in the cold winter that I was going to get some kind of gaming system. I don't like the killing and sex talk and stealing that is done on so many games. I know it's just play but I still don't like them. So, I started asking Will questions and people at the video store questions and the wii seems to be the friendly one. more family than just single playing. We had a blast. Also, Jen borrowed us a couple mario games. It's not like I am used to but not to far off that I can't play it.
I am still working on my basement. I am cleaning out the storage room and I want to find a use for it. hmmmm hot tub? yea. In my dreams. It's cool down there but almost like a whole another house waiting to be found. I even get a little bit of a creepy feeling when I am in there. But it's a good kind of creepy because it's my house.

A year ago, today, Tad, ended up in the hospital due to trying to slow down his drinking and has been sober every since. I am so proud of him. I have never had a drinking problem but from seeing it from my end of things, I am so glad that he quit. I love him so much and I brought him some flowers and a card to his work, because he deserves some special treatment. Tonight, I am making him dinner and that for him is a treat, because I don't cook. Also, I am not making an casserole. He hates those things.
I think it's cool that he isn't afraid to be around others that are drinking. He is secure in the fact that he just doesn't drink.

The event that I mentioned to raise money for the couple that lost their house is at the Eagles club. Only five dollars a person. I would go if I wasn't working.
I wanted to respond to the comment about giving money away to the insurance company. I agree but only in a small way. I have car insurance. Thank you husband. I have x amount of dollars a month, but I don't have enough to buy someone a new car should I have an accident and it be my fault. I could be sued and lose my right to drive. I wouldn't want to go to jail, because I got caught. So it is like giving money away until you screw up. However, when you do. It pays.
Now, on to home owners insurance. I think I pay a grand or a little more to insure my house per year. . If I am lucky, I will never have a fire or something else come wipe my house away. I love my house and the feeling that I own part of America. After 15 years, I would have paid almost 150, 000 . Ouch! Renters would be paying about the same but maybe less.
If something should destroy my house and I have no insurance to cover all my things and my house. Guess what? I still owe money for my house. Not only have I lost all my stuff. Bye Bye dolls. But I have nothing. I guess I should say that we should just be happy to be alive, but anyone gonna let us live with them? How bad would it suck to lose everything and have everyone hounding you for money. Not good.
Now for renters. There is renter's insurance. I don't think landlords have to cover your losses should something happen. However, the reason I say that home owners insurance is more important is because with some money you can get a new place to live and move on a lot easier than a home owner could. I have never been in a home fire or something else that wiped me out, so I am talking what I think it might be like.
Just for the record, the number that I mentioned is for everything. That's the taxes, insurance, principal and interest. Also, a home warranty. I got a new furnace, because I was smart enough to keep the warranty.
I just think that the big difference between renting and home ownership is that renting you know that you are throwing your money away. You pay to stay there and that is all you get. If you own your own home, someday, your property has a cash value to it. I am trying to put anyone down for renting. I did it and really just wanted more.
However, for me. Protecting my home makes me feel good. I don't want my children to bounce around from place to place. I want them to have a home to call home. Not just this or that place that we lived in. I want the neighborhood. The sense of belonging somewhere.
So, insure your homes.

Yesterday, Tyler and I went to the bike path. He rode his bike and I walked. I ran into my sister and her boyfriend's son. It was nice seeing them. then, we seen her new place. It's pretty nice. I think it's better than what she had. Not that the apartment itself she was in was all that bad, but the owners are not so good.
Well, anyways, after the bike path, I took Tyler to get his hair cut. While, I was waiting, I seen a sign about a Veteran and his wife who needed help raising money, because their house burnt down with NO HOME OWNERS INSURANCE. What are they crazy? But I don't know what was going on in their life to not be able to afford the insurance. They lost everything. How can you not insure whole whole house and belongings?
The date was May 22 at some club. I don't remember where. I would think about going if I wasn't working, but I am. It was only five dollars for a pig roast. If anyone is interested in going, I will get the name of the place for you. It's kind of sad. But again why were they not insured. Even if it meant going without some other things.
Well, I got to get ready to go touch me some firemen at the Y for the touch a truck event.
