weekend

My weekend off with the kids was pretty good. Tad took us out to dinner on Friday night to a Mexican restaurant and it was pretty good. After dinner I drank a whole bottle of Arbor mist. It's almost like kool-aid but I had a little buzz.
Saturday we didn't do much except for hang out around the house, the kids and I wet the weeds down in Ann's dog run, and pulled a bunch of them out. Our back yard is a mess, but it was a start. Tad's idea is to let Mother nature take care of it, but it bothers me. It's a really good thing we have a fence or we would be in the newspaper about the trash tracker.
I got to work tomorrow, and should spend sometime working on my English class assignment. But there is no school on Monday, Tyler and I might go out to dinner. He is a social butterfly, always has the little girls around. It's the only way I can talk to him, without the little girls around. Bye for now.

I bought 20 bottles of 2liters of soda, it was on sale!!!!

Well both kids have started school. Will is a 8Th grader this year, and Tyler is a 3rd grader. I started to write what schools they are in, but I figure that's too much information. If ya know us, and really want to know, ya might already know, or you could just ask.
I am almost done with my second week of college at Rock Valley, I can say that, because no one would want to kid nap me. They would be calling up and saying please I will pay you. Just take her back. haha. It's going okay, just really getting into them giving out homework. He makes us discuss things in groups, and ours tends to be two girls fresh out of high school, and another older student like me.
My clients are okay, but there has been some more health scares, and more tests than what there used to be. Until six months ago, I would say they went to the doc once a year. but not anymore, it's much more often.
I just know one of them will die soon, and the other one will probably follow. I hope when I am old, I still have a husband to lay my head on. Well got to finish getting ready for my other home.

lazy weekend

We had a pretty lazy weekend, without the kids. We really didn't do much. Saturday morning, we tried a restaurant, that Tad has been to but not with me. It was pretty good, and okay prices. We took a nap in the afternoon, thought about cleaning up the living room. That was as far as we got.

Saturday night we took Ann for a walk, it was too late and I didn't want to go with just Ann and myself. I hate the dark! Tad found a dead snake and brought it home. Ewwww gross, chasing me with it.

Now I have to get ready for work, my clients were planning on going to a picnic out of town. But not sure if they are going, because she was sick over the weekend. It would be nice if they go, sometime alone without them. But if they don't feel well, what can I say. Bye for now.

Hit by a truck!!

I came home from work. Shortly after that, Tyler and I went and got a hair cut. They charged me extra because I have long hair. That's bull, I am sure, when those little old men come in, and need there two hairs cut, they don't give them a discount. It should all equal out.
I then dropped Tj at my sister's Michelle's place, and went to my two classes. It was okay. The English 99 teacher is my age. He was trying to hold on to his youth, by saying freaking and using comedy. He gave homework to go get the books, we need for his class. I already did that. They next class to teach me how to be a college student, gave me freaking homework!! Homework on the first day of school. She is so not cool!! I have to make a goal, and make a plan on how to acheive my goal.
Well anyways after Tyler taking me to ice cream to celebrate college, and dealing with dinner, and washing Tj's bed sheets and blankets, and dealing with animals. I am beat. I feel like I was hit by a truck. I didn't even do my homework. bye for now, my short term goal, is to sleep.
I love my job!! I get hugs and kisses, and told Thank you all the time. I am trusted to run their household, with exception of paying the bills and filling the meds boxes. I told Sandy's husband, that I think she could use more nightgowns, becauses she gets them wet and dirty. He doesn't like laundry being done, unless it's a full load.
So I am trying to suggest she get's a new one. He says thats okay, you can buy her one, heck buy her two. I am overwhemled with the amount of love, and trust that I get from them. Any other job, after them, is going to be a bummer. I can't beat or top them. bye for now.

We all had a pretty good weekend. The kids and I went to Rock Valley College to see if I could find my classes, and just to show them around. At first Will wasn't happy about going, but I told him, he would be better at finding them for me. That's pretty much the truth. haha. We asked for change for the soda machine, and we were told there was a event for Mommy's going back to school. So we got a free lunch.
Tad said he got a free tire for his car, and a free hot dog on his day of work. After Tad came home, we all goofed around on our bikes. Between taking Tyler to Magic Waters, and riding bikes and stuff, I am pretty sore.
Lastly Tad took us out to dinner at Sam's. It's our favorite place to eat. It's good, and good prices.
Well got to get ready for work, and take Ann for her morning stroll. All the dogs bark at her, and yesterday, this guy was yelling at his dog to stop. I told him, he can't help it. She is so beautiful! Oh and you can't wrestle with her, because she plays mean, and sits on your head. haha. Just like a beautiful girl plays dirty!! Bye for now.

Does Ann make a great lap dog or what? She probably weighs about 60 lbs. She is a full blooded Labordor Retriever. We love her very much. We have been going on daily walks, and working our way up to jogging with her. Bye for now.

This is the Student Center at Rock Valley College. This morning was new student Orientation, there was free breakfast, and lots of information. We all got a tour of the school. I felt like it was through the woods and river to Grandma's house. lol. Lots of woods and creeks to see, and plenty of space for me to get lost in. Maybe I will need to drop me some crumbs to find my way. Yikes!!! No wonder, I didn't go when I was fresh out of high school. I don't know if I had, what it takes back then. I applied for financial aid, and chose my classes, a while ago. I studied to improve my test score.

Today I bought my books using my funds from the financial aid. I skipped out on getting the student Id, I really wanted a soda.

Then we registered Tyler for school, he is now a 3rd grader. But it's no fair, I got to start first. I don't want to grow up! I want to be a toys rs kid!!! Well enough for now.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Opps no walk for Ann today. I slept way too late. I have been really good for this past week, taking Ann for a walk everyday. Even getting up early before work, and going for a walk. Yesterday Tyler was riding his bike, and Ann and I ran to see if we could catch up. Guess what, he can peddle faster, than we can run. But we had a good few minutes.
Going for walks everyday has really been doing me good. Plus I have been using my home gym in the basement, no since in letting it sit down there and collect dust.
Well got to finish getting ready for work, and then tomorrow go to Rock Valley College for Orientation. I don't want to grow up, want to be a toys Rus kid. mmmmm how about a @nd grader, when all my worries, are who to be friends with, and having a love hate relationship with my sister. We got along great, but when she was mad watch out.!! She would want to beat ya up. But on the plus side of her temper, no one else could beat on me lol. Got to love sisters and brothers. Well bye for now.

Monday, August 11, 2008

My clients are getting weaker and sleeping more lately. They do still get out of the house for dinner and stuff. I had to pull Sandy's arm to get her to shower, okay not really pull her arm, but lots of pushing. Again that sounds bad. Lots of begging is more like it.
Sometimes it makes me so depressed, I feel like I am waiting for them to die. There are times, I just want to cry. Too much stuff going on in my life, that is eating away at me. And to top that off, I start college next week. Help!!!!! :) Scared and excited at the same time. I have student Orientation Wedesday morning. I haven't even went and bought anything for college, feel like a unprepared teenager. Well got to run. There is a emergency at my house, there is no soda here!!!

Odd things about me

  1. I have this habit when I see eye brows that are out of place to pull them. Not talking about doing that to myself but other people. Just ask my ex husband!! My new husband knows better to let me near his face.
  2. I have a weird sense of humor, like laughing when some falls down, or something else not so funny. Most of the time, I can control it, if I know someone is gonna beat me! lol But if I can get away with it, I will be laughing. Or biting my lip to keep from making someone mad.
  3. I can't stand the idea of using the same tube of toothpaste of anyone else, besides my family. Or to use the toothpaste, after the lid has been left off of it.
  4. I can't leave the house without peeing. What if there was a train?
  5. I love life time movies, even though they can make me cry.
  6. Sometimes I like to watch silly shows, that appeal to teenagers. example... Drake and Josh, and I Carly.
  7. I have a fear of being out in the dark. I think someone will get me.
  8. I don't travel well. I have a fear of getting lost, and never finding my way home, so I tend not to go too many new places on my own.
  9. We always say, no more animals but keep adding to our family. When the sad commercials come on about animals in need, my husband holds me back, so I don't get my credit card out.
  10. I love men in uniform, I think they are hot!! but when someone is need, I don't think of how good they look, just help whoever needs help.

Hey everyone jump in!! Share what you think is odd about yourself or me!!! All you have to do is make a comment.
I woke up with a husband in my bed, that would be my husband. Two cats one of which was on my pillow, and two dogs in the bed. What more can a girl want.

These videos are not the best, but then what do ya expect for a cell phone. Just the fact, that I can send pictures and videos from my phone is very cool.
These community centers are out there, and doing their best to keep young kids off drugs and away from crime. I think they are doing great, but someone needs to speak to all the Mommy's and Daddy's, because if they are doing the drugs and crime, so will the kids. Well that's not always true though. I think what they are doing is great, and you can tell by looking into the leaders eye, that they enjoy what they do. If you don't enjoy what you do, then it's hard to make it worth while to go to work. Well bye for now.
P.S. Please note that I am not referring to any race when it comes to raising kids. Just stating kids learn by example.

Tyler and I went to the Gateway park, otherwise known to us as the wood park. It's a playground made of wood, build around tree's and has mazes. It's pretty cool. We didn't know that there was something special going on there today.
There was a few different groups of community centers full of kids playing music, One group called yes stands for young eagles soaring. Or something to that matter. Most the people there were black, or if I am politically correct African American. So we were a little out of place, but not really. We had a good time listening to all the music and watching all the little kids dance. Not normally my kind of music, but it was very cool! When a little girl was singing a really mushy song, I couldn't help but feel sad, because I missed out on so much with my little girl. Then I feel bad for bad for feeling bad, because my little boy is on my lap. Overall we had a great time, a little too much sitting for Tyler. I think everyone needs to start accepting each other for who we are, and if you don't like me, then you know where the door is.

This is Tad's new dog. We really didn't need a new dog, but he really wanted him. So now we have a new family member. He has adjusted pretty well. Shadow don't mind him, then tend to follow each other around. Marty, the little kitten, likes to play with him. Ann loves to play with him, but can get a little too rough. Bye for now.

Fwd: You have new Picture Mail!

My ex husband sent me this picture of my son William. He didn't explain where this was taken, but at least he sent it to me.

a day in my life as a caregiver

It all started out as a normal day. Both are sleeping, when I arrived at work, which I tend to call my home. I get the first couple hours to myself, I even gave in to be tired and lied down on my bed for a few minutes, of course I have the monitor on.
Bob wakes up and eats breakfast, and then wants his dark glasses, and there are no where to be found. I am looking all over, but to no luck can I find them.
He then tells me that. He is gonna go check out the basement. I said "would you like me to do that for you?, I don't mind" Bob said. " No I will do it, it will be good for my legs, if I make it" What is he suggesting, he might do? Fall down the stairs? What am I suppose to say? I just watch him go down, and he gets down, and back up just fine.
Sandy is sleeping pretty late, it's almost 1:00 pm, and I am about to wake her up, but she gets up on her own. I get her settled in her chair, and get her something to eat. After she ate, she was snoozing in her chair. I tried and tried to get her to lie down on the couch. I need to go to the store, and can't do it, if she is sitting up. Well she keeps telling me no. So I sit in there with for a while, and then get up and keep checking on her. All of a sudden, she looks like she is gonna throw up, but she is sleeping. So I run to get something to catch it with, and when I come back. There is a huge mess on her face and her clothes. She is still sleeping, but actually at the point. I think she is dead. She is glassy eye, cocked over to the side of the chair and not answering me when I call her. I am really scared, I checked her for a pulse but couldn't find it. I thought for sure she was dead. I am yelling for Bob, but he can't hear me because of his old age. I finally get his attention. I got myself so worked up, he can't understand me. I finally get him to look at her. I finally noticed that her chest is moving, so not so scared. She finally wakes up, and wonders why we are messing with her. She didn't remember what had went on. We ask why she didn't answer and she says, "cause I didn't want to. Then she says she has to go the bathroom.

So I help her in in the bathroom, and put a clean nightgown on her. Then all of a sudden, she is throwing up again, and acting real confused and dizzy. So her husband calls 911 and about six firemen, emergency guys come in the house. I get her to stand up from the toilet, and I am using all my strength to prevent her from falling to the floor. She wouldn't or couldn't walk to the firemen. A strong one had to carry her out, and then put her on the stretcher.
Her husband isn't dressed, they asked me if I was riding with her. I said yea, and jumped in the front of the ambulance. On the way, I thought opps, Guess I should have asked her husband. He did say he would drive himself there.

We get to the hospital and she don't know why everyone is making such a big fuss over. Her husband and their son show up. We are there for about five hours. All the tests came back ok, except for a minor infection. They said with her age, it can make a person act weird.
So we get her back home, and she had a light dinner. Then I had to tell Bob, that we were totally out of milk, can I go to the gas station and get some. I didn't want to go to the store, it was too late. He says sure take all the money you need. I am thinking. hmmmmm the mortgage is due!! haha just kidding.
About 10 pm, he says why don't we all go to bed. It's been a long hard emotional day for you. It sure was. I have been working for them for about 15 months now, and I have come to really love and respect them. I know they have lived a long life but not ready to see one them die. I have never seen anyone die. I have experienced a lot of my clients dieing. but none that I have spent any major time with. The funny thing is that she will probably not remember any of this. I guess that is for the best.
Names have been changed to protect clients privacy.

One final note, my friend Rachel's Dad died, last night at the age of 75 years old. She said, they all got to say their goodbyes and was there, singing to him when he took his last breath. Good bye Rachel's Dad!! :(

This is my little boy Tyler. I am very proud of him. He had a lot of challenges, and kept me very busy. He had a really severe speech problem. When he was three years old, I was taking him to four different therapies a week. I didn't drive, because I was a chicken. Getting to this therapy wasn't easy. When he was five years old, using sign language, and the pecs, known as a picture exchange device to help him, get his needs across. Even with all that, he was on a list to get a device that would speak for him. They weren't sure if he would gain speech. Then all of a sudden, he started improving and hasn't stopped. He talks so much now. Sometimes too much. He still has some room for improvement and needs extra help in school. He is very smart though. He is interested in computers, and science. Real interested in storms, and taking things apart. Hello broken chairs, and bunny cage taken apart. lol Got to love him.
P.S. I learned how to drive in a 9 passenger vehicle and failed on the first try, but got my licence, the day after his 4Th birthday.
We had a pretty good weekend. Will was home for the weekend. Everyone was was pretty much well behaved. Tad and I did our first home repair for our house. We changed the shower head. Tyler broke it. We could still shower, but it blast ya real hard. In our renting days, we would have ignored it for fear, of being kicked out for having too many animals.
Will and I played Mario brothers for a little while, and then Matt stopped by for a couple hours, and they played and goofed around.
I bought Ann a new collar, it's a prong training collar. I hate to do it, but I seen a improvement in her walking already. The lady at the pet store said the key to her not running over the little animals is more walks. That way she is tired when she comes in.
Well I have to get ready for work, and try to squeeze in a walk for Ann before I leave for work.

Bob* my client, went to his doc yesterday, And they found out a reason for him being so tired. They are taking him off a couple of medications, so he was mentally feeling a lot better. So maybe he won't be leaving this earth quite yet. He is 97 years old though. They are so sweet, and i love to be around them. I am suppose to be taking care of them, but they have so much wisdom and advice to offer, that sometimes I think they take care of me. haha. I try not to drink too much soda in front of him, because he lectures me.
We got a new dog, they were going to take it to the dog jail, otherwise known as the pound. They were moving, and wasn't able to keep him. He is two years old, and he was a expensive dog, They paid over 1500.00 for him. So we are crazy, added another dog to our mix. We are really not crazy, because if you are really crazy, you don't know it.
I start college in two and half weeks. Help!!!!! A mom, a full time job, and student, and a wife. But it will be okay.
* means fake name to protect my clients privacy.
Did you know that when a female lion goes into heat, that her and her lion husband, mate every 15 minutes for a few days. mmmmmmm Guess ya know what animal I want to be.
